The price of these Victron smart MPPT controllers has fallen considerably. I previously used a 75/15 with blue tooth which proved rugged, reliable and effective; but the issue is: I once USED a 75/15 controller: The first that I purchased suffered water ingress and failed; Victron were very generous, in that I held up my hands. explained the circumstance, ( the fault was mine entirely ), they replaced the unit very quickly, free of charge, without any quibble. The replacement was housed in a waterproof housing ( which subsequently failed ) and again the unit was destroyed by water. I purchased this 100/20 model on the basis of cost alone, coupled with the impressive performance of the previous units. The two glaring design faults that these units suffer from in my opinion are: That they will fail if exposed to water and that the terminals are quite inadequate, being too small and flimsy to robustly secure cable specified in the Canadian regulations; as quoted in the connection section of the user manual; my opinion is that the unit should be able to retain cables that exceed the thickness specified, without the risk of damage to the unit, or disconnection from the unit should a severe constant or intermittent snatch strain be imposed on the cables, nor should they be able to work free with movement; I use the unit in a mobile, temporarily placed, hung but unfixed situation and this has not proven to be the case; but to be fair this seems to be true of most charge controllers currently on sale and most charge controllers are used in fixed locations in any case. Had these issues been resolved long ago, No other manufacturer would have come close to delivering the quality, performance and reliability of these controllers: IPv 6 minima and the ability to robustly connect 6 millimeter 0.08 strand cable to the units within this product range,would truly earn that extra point( plus ). and to the devil with the retail price.

What's there more to say about Victron, it's the best! I'd just like to mention that I've received my new Victron 100/20 order from 12VoltPlanet, and am super satisfied with everything. Professional service from the store, received the item around 10 days after ordering in impeccable condition, well packaged. Very pleased with this charger and the whole order process. Despatched fast and arrived in 2 days. Pleased with the quality of the charger and the bluetooth connection to the free app is perfect. Can understand what is happening with the charging process & power usage. Will more time to understand the full limitations & benefits of the system . But at least now I have a lot more details rather than just a volt reading. Will definitely use 12voltplanet.co.uk again.

Just instaled my new Victron smart solar 100/20 MPPT Charge controler, after a wast recurch on controller I am convinced that this product far presides others on ther market, and the built in celphone conecion is great now I know what my solar panels are doing, easy innstal and fast deliwery by 12 volts planet.
