Terminals & Connectors FAQs
Q | What do the red/blue/yellow colours of pre-insulated crimp terminals mean? |
A | These colours relate to the cable size that should be used with them. Red suits 0.5-1.5mm² cable, blue suits 1.5-2.5mm² cable and yellow suits 3.0-6.0mm² cable. |
Q | Will I need a special tool to crimp my terminal? |
A | Each terminal type will require a dedicated tool to help get a good, neat and secure crimp. If you're using several different terminals then we recommend looking at our bundle tool with interchangeable jaws. |
Q | What type of connector do I need? |
A | This would be down to a choice between a permanent or removeable connection and the style of terminal (e.g. butt connector, blade, bullet). For more information we recommend reading our Terminals & Connectors guide below. |
