VictronConnect App - Battery Settings

When you are in the process of setting up a Victron charger, be that a DC-DC charger, mains charger or MPPT solar controller, you will need to download the VictronConnect app to configure the settings of the charger so that it is set up correctly to charge your battery type.

There are a variety of different battery presets to choose from on the app, most of which are named after the battery type they can be selected to charge (though the preset on the VictronConnect app for lead acid batteries is named 'Gel Victron Deep Discharge 2').

With these presets, you will be given preset voltages for Absorption, Float, Storage and Equalization voltages (or just Absorption, Float and Storage for lithium batteries) which suit most models of batteries that fall under each category, but we would recommend verifying these voltages with those in the manual or on the datasheet for your specific battery as these may be different. They can be adjusted by simply selecting the number and adding or subtracting from that or erasing the current figure and replacing it with a suitable one. This will then change your preset name to 'User Defined' as you have made an edit to one of Victron's presets.

If you set the charger up to charge a different battery type or the incorrect voltage, this could have serious implications for the battery and potentially be dangerous so definitely make sure you have the voltages set correctly for your battery.
