Shurflo Trail King 12V 30PSI 10LPM Water Pump

The Shurflo Trail King 30psi 10LPM water pump is a triple diaphragm, pressure-activated pump suitable for use in a wide range of 12V leisure vehicle applications. Diaphragm pumps are more powerful than compact submersible/immersion pumps and are a better option for larger campervan or motorhome installations, or off-grid applications, where water needs to be pumped over longer pipe lengths and/or to multiple outlets (e.g sink, shower, toilet, external tap etc.).

This unit features an internal switch that starts the pump when it detects the pressure drop that occurs when a tap or other outlet is opened. It will re-pressurise the system to around 30psi, providing a maximum flow rate of 10LPM. The Trail King pumps have well-proven reliability and the triple diaphragm design is self-priming, efficient, and quiet in operation. They can be run dry without any damage and are protected against thermal overload with an internal breaker that automatically restores power to the pump once it has cooled.

The pump comes fitted with cable tails and should be wired with 2.5mm² cross-section cable as a minimum (4mm² for runs over 6m) using a 5-10A fuse. Mounting is via four rubber isolating feet to dampen vibrations, and the inlet and outlet port connections are 1/2" male threads.

A Shurflo filter should be used on the inlet side to prevent debris entering the pump and an optional accumulator can be fitted downstream of the pump to reduce cycling pulsation and pressure spikes, smooth out the water flow, and increase pump life (see Further information below).

Note: This pump is supplied without port fittings (see Further information below). Traces of water may be present in the ports as each unit is tested in the factory before shipping - this is not a sign of prior use.

Connecting to your pump - Shurflo recommends connecting the inlet/outlet ports to a short length of 13mm reinforced flexible hose with stainless hose clips. They do not recommend connecting the pump ports directly to rigid or semi-rigid tubing as this can transmit pump vibration and noise, and potentially cause fittings to loosen over time. To connect to 13mm flexible hose we stock straight or elbow port fittings and you can then join to JG 12mm push-in tubing using an adaptor.

Do I need an accumulator? - If you find that the pump is cycling rapidly and this can't be solved by adjusting the shut-off pressure (using the screw on the front of the pump head), Shurflo recommends installing an accumulator to fix the issue and increase pump life. An accumulator will also provide a steady, smooth flow of water.

Which Shurflo pump to choose? - When deciding which Shurflo pump to use, check the maximum water pressure that can be accepted by all of the components in your system (for example, Truma Combi units can accept up to 40psi / 2.8Bar, but some taps can only accept up to 20psi) and choose 20psi or 30psi accordingly.
