Description

2 position (ON/OFF), single pole marine battery isolator / master switch rated 300A continuous @ 32V DC. This IP56 rated switch has a maximum cranking current of 1000A @ 32V DC and features a third switch position marked OUT where the actuator that can be removed, providing a useful security measure.

For isolation of batteries from loads or charging sources in boats and vehicles. Useful for preventing parasitic battery drain when left for long periods or as an emergency shut-off.

Designed to be panel-mounted in a 52mm hole and secured using the supplied metal nut.

These isolation switches are surprisingly easy to operate. I had a peak inside and whilst I am no expert, I found the copper contacts to be nice and large which along with a solid copper connection bar and strong spring should I hope, be well capable of the amperage specified.

They claim to need a 52mm hole however there are 2 flat sections which reduce the diameter to 49mm at one point. I have yet to fit them but I have made 2 domed shims which I intend to glue/pin inside the 52mm hole. I am not sure they are needed as the switching action is very smooth but I’ll fit them anyway.
As usual 12 Volt Planet provided good products with good service and good prices.
