Solar Power FAQs
Q | Do I need an isolator switch on my solar system? |
A | Isolator switches are not required for low-voltage applications and can hinder the performance of the panel due to the resistance. On higher voltage applications (36V upwards) it is recommended an isolator switch is installed. |
Q | Should my panels be connected in series or parallel? |
A | It is always recommend solar panels are fitted in series to increase there performance. You can learn more about this in our article found here. |
Q | What is Open Circuit Voltage (VOC)? |
A | Open Circuit Voltage or VOC is the voltage available from the solar panel when there is no load attached and the circuit is incomplete. You can find out more about this here. |
