Battery Monitoring FAQs
Q | I just put my Lithium battery on charge and now my voltmeter shows 13.6V, is it fully charged? |
A | The chances are that it isn't as charging a battery will result in the measured voltage increasing as it receives a higher charging voltage from the charger. This can range from 13.6V to as high as 15V. Some voltmeters can give a false impression of the state of the battery as a result of this increased charging voltage. |
Q | Can I monitor my batteries when I'm not with my vehicle? |
A | Yes, you can do this with one of Victron's GX devices (if you have an internet connection inside the vehicle). You can access the Victron Remote Monitoring system to monitor your battery remotely. |
Q | My 24V Lithium batteries keep displaying voltages less than 15V why is this? |
A | This lower voltage display could be caused by one battery being shut down by its internal BMS if it is discharged very low. As a result, your shunt will only detect the remaining battery and display that battery's voltage. |
