Victron Energy Filax-2 Automatic Transfer Switch - 230V 50Hz - 240V 60Hz

The Victron Energy Filax 2 has been designed to switch sensitive loads, such as computers or modern entertainment equipment from one AC source to another. The priority source typically is the mains, a generator or shore power, and the alternate source is typically an inverter. With its ultra fast switching time of less than 20 milliseconds, sensitive loads will continue to operate without disruption to the AC power supply. Often used to maintain power supply to critical loads by switching to inverter power in the event of loss of grid power.

The Filax is a 'break-before-make' transfer switch, to prevent the dangerous scenario where two AC sources are connected simultaneously, and the maximum load transfer time is 16ms. The load is normally supplied by the priority source, and is transferred to the alternate source if the voltage of the priority source drops too low or the frequency becomes too high/low.

Note: the Filax is not intended or designed to supply high power household equipment like washing machines, electrical motors etc.
