This pair of multi-functional solar spanners is an essential piece of kit when wiring up solar panels. With a tough plastic construction, this dedicated tool is a real time-saver when terminating solar cable with MC4 style solar PV connectors.
Used together, the central slot on one spanner holds the body of the solar connector still, whilst the open end of the other spanner is used to tighten or loosen the nut of the connector.
An additional feature is the 'spikes' at the end of the spanners that fit over the locking tabs on the connector to push them inwards and allow the male and female parts to be easily disconnected. Note: these disconnection spikes will not work on connectors that have enclosed locking tabs.
