Description

Pair of T-Branch solar connectors with terminals. Commonly used for connecting 2 solar panels in parallel before connecting to a solar controller, but can also be used for making T-junction connections in more complex solar systems.

Consists of 1 male to 2 female and 1 female to 2 male.

Solar connectors are the industry-standard method for providing a waterproof connection to solar panels and between solar cables. They suit cable of 2.5, 4.0 & 6.0mm² cross section and can be terminated either by crimping or soldering. A cable gland at the end of each connector ensures a waterproof seal when tightened around the cable insulation. Compatible with MC4 connectors.

Note: Never connect or disconnect solar connectors whilst they are under electrical load as this can cause arcing which can damage the contacts.

The 'gender' of each connector is determined by looking at the terminal that is housed within it. The 'male' connector looks like a socket but houses the male terminal and the 'female' connector looks like a plug but houses the female terminal.

Useful little connector

Very useful for connecting two small strings or panels in parallel. It saves bringing each into a combiner box.
