Mains Battery Charging FAQs

« Return to Mains Battery Charging

Q I have a lithium battery, will any charger work?
A

No, you will need to make sure any chargers used with a lithium battery have a lithium charging profile. Using a charger without a suitable charging profile may damage the battery.

Q How long will my charger take to get my battery to 100%?
A This can be affected by many factors from the depth of discharge, battery age & even temperature. Typically, we recommend leaving a battery on the charger for 8 hours to make sure it is fully charged.
Q My lithium battery is not charging but my charger works with other batteries, is it faulty?
A It is very unlikely that the battery would be faulty. If lithium batteries are discharged below a certain voltage then their BMS will shut them down. This can render them unreadable to some chargers and as a result, they may not produce a charging current. You can read more about this issue and how it can be resolved by clicking here.
