The CBE BMTG LPG and soporific gas detector has been specifically designed for the campervan, motorhome, caravan, RV and boat markets, and has a 10 year sensor life. It can detect butane, propane and their mixtures, plus ether gas with a narcotic effect.
There are two calibration levels, which can be selected using a configuration bridge on the back of the detector, to allow the sensitivity of the sensor to be adjusted according to use and chosen installation position. A visual and acoustic signal warns of the presence of gas in the air before its concentration reaches a tenth of the minimum value needed to trigger an explosion (LPG) or before it has an effect on people (soporific gas).
The detector requires a 12V DC supply so can be powered directly from your vehicle's electrical system, and has a low current consumption of 50mA. A green LED indicates that the unit is working correctly and on detection of gas, a buzzer will sound and a red LED will flash. The unit also has a 250mA auxiliary output that can be used to trigger an external device such as an alarm, buzzer, relay, light etc.
The facia unclips to allow access to the screw holes and the unit can either be recess mounted, or surface mounted using the supplied spacer (fixings are not included).
