This 1993 PowerBar busbar from Blue Sea Systems is suitable for large, complex wiring systems where a single point to connect a wide range of cable sizes is required. It can be used for power distribution or negative return consolidation for currents up to 1000A and can accommodate multiple circuits thanks to the various sized stud and screw connections.
There are 12 studs that accept M8 (8.4mm) ring terminals and these are fitted with flange nuts to enable high torque for exceptional electrical contact. There are 11 screw terminals with captive starlock washers that accept M4 (4.3mm) ring terminals, and 5 screw terminals that accept M5 (5.3mm) ring terminals. All fixings are stainless steel for corrosion resistance, the busbar is made from tin-plated copper for excellent electrical conductivity, and the end caps are moulded from high-impact glass-filled plastic, giving this product a very heavy duty feel.
The stud and screw connections are staggered so that cables are easily routed in between each other without interference, and the stepped design of the busbar provides two elevations to increase the available connection density. The end caps are bi-directional, meaning that two or more busbars can be 'ganged' together by removing one end cap from each additional busbar and connecting it to the previous one.
Features
- Accommodates a large number of cables in a wide variety of sizes
- Tin-plated C11000 copper for maximum conductivity
- Staggered studs allow all cables to connect from one side
- Stepped bus increases connection density
- Bi-directional end caps allow busbars to be joined
- Long stud length allows multiple terminals to be fitted
