This 721 Heavy Duty Battery Selector Switch from BEP is a robust switch for larger vessels and higher current systems. It can be used to changeover the loads and charging sources between 2 batteries or to combine them and the switch selector positions are OFF/ 1 / 1+2 / 2. To provide flexible installation options, the switch can be recess-mounted or surface mounted and fits into the same contour locking system as found in BEPs battery distribution system.
The removable back cover protects the exposed terminals which prevents damage and accidental shorting and meets ABYC specifications. Removable side panels in the body of the unit allow for various cable entry options and this switch is ignition protected for safe use in engine compartments and spaces containing fuel.
BEP tests its battery switches to UL 1107 for Continuous (1 hour), Intermittent (5 minutes) and Cranking (engine starting - 10 seconds) operation. The test is to determine the maximum current the switch can handle for the stated time without the rear terminals exceeding 100°C above the ambient temperature. The continuous and intermittent ratings are tested at 110 percent of specified ratings. All BEP switches are tested Independently to this specification by a 3rd party laboratory.
