Description

Ratchet crimping tool specifically designed for crimping adhesive-lined heat shrink terminals. The crimping jaws have a flat, smooth profile that prevents damage to the heat shrink sleeve of the terminal, whilst still ensuring a strong, effective crimp of the conductor.

Colour-coded dies (red, blue, yellow) for different heat shrink terminal sizes.

The ratchet mechanism ensures that the jaws of the tool are not released until a full crimp has been applied to the terminal.

Features spring return and adjustable crimp pressure via dial setting on ratchet mechanism.

Sold individually.

As with most things, if you want to start doing it professionally, you need to start really putting in some time researching the best tools for the job.

Inevitably it leads to spending more than you did as a hobbyist.

These crimps are good value for money, making clean and tight crimps with the heat-shrink insulated terminals supplied by 12vp.

I have had a couple of misfires with it, where the crimp simply didn't take, but this is always with smaller gauge wire (~0.5mm). However, experience tells me that is the fault of the terminal, not the tool; I have used RS Components terminals of the same design, and they never fail to crimp correctly.

These are a must if you want to do more than a few heat shrink terminals - I have been using them to make and engine harness, and when compared to the £25 Ebay special crimps, I find myself wondering why I didn't just buy these in the first place.

Well worth the money, go for it.
