Durite micro 'change over' relay. Features a diode fitted across the coil (terminals 1 & 2) to suppress voltage spikes that occur in the coil circuit when the relay is de-energised. If not suppressed, these can damage sensitive circuit components such as found in central locking or alarm systems.
Rated at 12V, 20/30A. Terminals are 3 x 4.8mm and 2 x 6.3mm blades.
Can also be used as a 4 pin relay simply by leaving one of the output terminals disconnected.
Important: +12V must be applied to terminal 1 and ground to terminal 2. If this is reversed the diode may be damaged.
Sold individually.
Further information
The dual current rating (20/30A) means that the output connected when the coil is not energised (terminal 4 - 4.8mm) can carry 20A , and the output connected when the coil is energised (terminal 5 - 6.3mm) can carry 30A.
